Hello there:)

I've been wordless lately due to the busy schedule I had at this moment. Pheeeewww just finished my Christmas Catalogue design for Delicious... I love all the food there, wild mushroom and bread pudding especially:) Had a photography session with Jaszmyn the multi tasking hard working pleasant client from E&O. I truly appreciate the process that I have to go through before the final design approved.. I am so glad doing stuff for them..High expectation make me work harder:)

I have 2 custom orders for photo album and also a wedding guest book..

cover of photo album & fabric sample

I am looking forwards for Art for Grabs next weekends. Been a while since I do any bazaars...but I managed to secure a spot..They are quite picky in choosing the vendor, so it was an honor to be selected this time around..Say hi if you are happened to be there...I am at spot 20 & 21, side by side with Gigi Gee. I am not sure if I could managed to squeeze in creating some new products.... will see how..

I am excited for my upcoming workshop too..I had an overwhelming response...and as usual I am excited to meet my new students.. Around 20 students interested to attend..and some taking morning slot, some are taking afternoon and some are taking both slot...At this moment what I am thinking is the location map to direct to my workshop.. I am renting a simple place, first time trying out having my workshop at Dewan Komuniti.. but I am sure it is going to be a cosy place for teaching. And I am thinking of food I am gonna to serve...a pie made by Eita...and the best velvet cupcake in the world made by Kak Linda... Ha ha ..I am definitely hungry at this moment..

I had a wonderful rushing 2 month this Nov & Dec..the most productive month amongst other months. I definitely riding a roller coaster but I am glad I overcome all the obstacle and challenge and it turn to be an exciting and enjoyable ride after all....

Maal Hijrah are here already, and we going to leave 2011 real soon.... Time flies....too fast for me to catch up..what I am hoping for me and for you is to enjoy and treasure every bit of moment left...take care//syam

Quote of the day:)

Any ordinary favor we do for someone or any compassionate reaching out may seem to be going nowhere at first, but may be planting a seed we can't see right now. Sometimes we need to just do the best we can and then trust in an unfolding we can't design or ordain - Sharon Salzberg

Farida Aryani

Here would like to share customize order from Farida Aryani that wanted a note book of A5 size.

She wanted it to be double thicker than what I normally do, with casing like a sleeve
where she can reuse again and again.

option name and new pink bookmark
She chose pink fabric and I handwritten her name on natural fabric and place it on book
as well as on the sleeve cover. I hope she will like it:)

Our Adventure Book 2:)

Sent this book yesterday to United State, the same version as what I've done for Cherie. This time with customize name Jimmy & Angela on it. I got her order almost immediately after I published the pictures of Cherie's book in my blog. After all the negotiation here I would like to share the final look of the book with all of you:)

The postage took almost half of the price...and when I sent it to post office the estimation of postage fee was exceed higher than what I've calculated earlier :( Anyhow that was the process I got to learn .. and I really hope she satisfied and happy..as much as I am happy doing it for someone that appreciate my handmade so much...

Thanks Angela... I hope your fiancé and you will fill up the book with many, many, many happy stories:) //syam

Final touch-up

I am into UP... Still can't find the original dvd yet ...After making a research I ask Cherie to bring back the book to add on more detail. An additional eyelet and the dark brown ribbon string has been added to the cover. Me are Cherie felt sooo happy that the book now seems perfectly completed. It doesn't give any function just an esthetic and similar to original version of UP...now I can sleep well:)

Busy Week:)

Been such a busy week to me...Sad to say I have to cancel my trip to Penang. 3 graphic jobs need my attention, plus teaching and preparation for children workshop at Petronas Gallery next Tuesday.

My application for Arts for Grab accepted, me and Gigi going to be there:) yeaaayy. This is my 2nd participation in the same event. The first one was last year at almost the same time.

Gonna work like a lightning this week, attending meeting requested a design proposal for christmas catalogue next Monday, I have business plan document, website design & helping out friend doing illustration for souvenir items...adddoiii

Got a few custom order for hand bound books and duckie too:) I have interesting story for this duckie whereby the same duckie was adopted few months back and was sending to India to her friend as a gift for their newly born baby girl. Unfortunately the duckie got stolen from their pram while they walking in the park. So they requested the exact same fabric, because the duckie was supposed to grow up as her first toy.

I am on the midst of applying a bigger workshop space at Dewan Komuniti in AU, Wangsa Maju area, to accommodate number of people applying for workshop 12, which more comfortable than doing it at home. So if ever the application go through as what has planned, I am going to announce for available  extra seat to 4-5 more students.

That so much in plate at this moment..more than I could handle.. but I am going to take it easily. And Syamil UPSR result will be out tomorrow...this make me nervous more than all above...pheeeewww.

Take care folk//syam

Quote of the day

Every human being on this earth is born with a tragedy, and it isn't original sin. He's born with the tragedy that he has to grow up. That he has to leave the nest, the security, and go out to do battle. He has to lose everything that is lovely and fight for a new loveliness of his own making, and it's a tragedy. A lot of people don't have the courage to do it ~ Helen Hayes

Participant Applications now CLOSED!

Wow.. thank you guys.. due to overwhelming feedback for book binding workshop, I got to announce that no more seat left for the workshop 12 on 17 Dec...12 people has booked, and it is more that I can accomodate...unless I found a studio that I could rent.

It's been a while since my last workshop and I think everyone so eagerly wanna learn and been waiting for an announcement...

I am so happy that there are so many people wanna learn this skill from me. It is an essential skill to learn, even if you are not a crafter but making your own book and make a nice gift out of it was valuable and precious. Forget about moleskin book... your version definitely much better:)

I hope I could do different type of workshop next year, the response I've received somehow motivate me to offer more workshops:)

Thank you:)// syam
