Mural at Orang Utan, by Charles Cham

Making a vintage look by putting tedious detail like cutting
the border by using special scissor one by one...
Hectic process but so worth by looking at the end result:)

Hello There:)

I've been away for few days... time to spend time with family. Last two weeks been such a tough and sad moment to me...Relative of mine at age of 44 passed away caused of cancer, Al Fatihah... Really really sad moment...

Visiting my parent was like a cure to me...how I wish I can visit them as frequent as I can and these are my new resolution for next year "to visit mak&abah as frequent as I could"

Before that I went to Gleaneagles to visit neighbour that just had breast cancer operation and also Kak Miah's husband that admitted at Gleaneagles, also for cancer. Pretty traumatized for what had happened by looking at many number of peoples around me had cancer as if it was such a common sickness nowadays.

On my way back to KL, I got to know Kak Miah Husband condition becoming worst and was really in bad shape, critical... and got the phone call the next morning, he passed away... Oh Tuhan dari dia kita datang dan kepada dia jua kita kembali...

Looking at lifestyle, food that we consume, depression and stress, environment; anyone have the risk of having it. And I've been thinking of this a lot lately.

Cancer is a class of diseases characterized by out-of-control cell growth. There are over 100 different types of cancer, and each is classified by the type of cell that is initially affected.

Cancer harms the body when damaged cells divide uncontrollably to form lumps or masses of tissue called tumors (except in the case of leukemia where cancer prohibits normal blood function by abnormal cell division in the blood stream). Tumors can grow and interfere with the digestive, nervous, and circulatory systems, and they can release hormones that alter body function. Tumors that stay in one spot and demonstrate limited growth are generally considered to be benign.

More dangerous, or malignant, tumors form when two things occur:

  1. a cancerous cell manages to move throughout the body using the blood or lymph systems, destroying healthy tissue in a process called invasion
  2. that cell manages to divide and grow, making new blood vessels to feed itself in a process called angiogenesis.
When a tumor successfully spreads to other parts of the body and grows, invading and destroying other healthy tissues, it is said to have metastasized. This process itself is called metastasis, and the result is a serious condition that is very difficult to treat.

What causes cancer?Cancer is ultimately the result of cells that uncontrollably grow and do not die. Normal cells in the body follow an orderly path of growth, division, and death. Programmed cell death is called apoptosis, and when this process breaks down, cancer begins to form. Unlike regular cells, cancer cells do not experience programmatic death and instead continue to grow and divide. This leads to a mass of abnormal cells that grows out of control.

I am not sure if it is too late to take care of myself...but that will be my 2nd resolution for next year "take care of myself, health especially".... and I  know I am not treat myself properly all this while...phewww ///syam

Quote of the Day

Sometimes being a friend means mastering the art of timing. There is a time for silence. A time to let go... And a time to prepare to pick up the pieces when it's all over ~ Gloria Naylor

Oh Tuhan

Oh Tuhan
Aku hanya mampu melihat, tak mampu berbuat apa2,
sekadar doa..

I am in the mood of "Talking to the Moon"

Hi there.... do not ask me why the title of my post sounded like I am in the gloomy mood:) I couldn't explain of the inner state I felt at this moment due to hormone that been upside down lately..ha ha

Hey what a great 2 days at Art for Grabs. It's been a while since I do bazaar and participating in AFG like a break, breathing space that I extremely need, after the hard work this 2 months...And I have met many wonderful people that gave an encouragement, compliment for my humble products I produced. Thank you so much I can't thank enough...and fellow crafter that being such a wonderful company and friends that drop by to give support..you know who you are... and YES this is such a worth break after all.

House a bit chaotic at this moment with minor renovation on the roof and ceiling, so I am being very patient with the state of messiness at home and I am so glad that having the workshop at different place is the wise decision after all.

I can't wait to meet my new students for this Saturday workshop.. and I apologise to have turn down a few applications. I am sure there are many more workshops, next year...

Look at how fast time has flies... and time for us to make a new resolution list...how about you? Are you making one too?

take care as always//syam

When I was younger I thought success was something different. I thought, " When I grow up, I want to be famous. I want to be a star. I want to be in movies. When I grow up I want to see the world, drive nice cars. I want to have groupies." But my idea of success is different today. For me, the most important thing in your life is to live your life with integrity and not to give into peer pressure, to try to be something that you're not. To live your life as an honest and compassionate person. To contribute in some way Ellen DeGeneres

Children Workshop at Galeri Petronas, 8 Dec 2011

My second and last session teaching an Art Escape Programme at Petronas Gallery. I had a fun time teaching all this adorable kid a basic technique of silkscreen printing...22 kids attended a workshop...I like when one kid said I like to get my hand dirty...

They are totally a different type of generation..2 of them even chose flame as their subject matter...and a dragon, because she inspired of Harry Potter. While during my time I will choose flower or house. Our exposure and the way we been brought up was so different and contrast.

But kids will always be kids they are fascinated learning a new stuff...I definitely will miss them:)
