WORKSHOP 01: Secret Belgian Date: 28 March 2020 // Saturday Time: 10.30am~2.00pm Fee: RM170 Description: Secret Belgian Binding is a method of bookbinding that uses a primary and a secondary sewing, resulting in a distinct thread pattern on the cover and spine of the finished book. Invented by Anne Goy a Belgian artist in 1986, it has a similar appearance to Japanese stab bindings with opened flat and closed spine. WORKSHOP 02: Coptic Stitch Date: 29 March 2020 // Sunday Time: 10.30am~2.00pm Fee: RM170 Description: The coptic stitch bookbinding method the stitch with an expose spine that opens up book completely flat. Invented by early Christians in Egypt, the Copts, and used from as early as the 2nd century AD to the 11th century. The stitch appeared very sleek and distinctive braid or chain pattern.
