Food of the Day!

Dalcha ingredients

Rice ingredients

Ready to serve...
I am in the mood of cooking. Menu for buka puasa is Briyani Rice and Chicken Briyani with Dalcha. I am more excited on the process of preparing it:) Not bad but the rice need to further refine, should added on more spice, probably much better with ghee than vegetable oil.

Food of the Day!

Beautiful organic shape from Roti Jala/Net Bread. Nice to be enjoyed with curry gravy that goes along with it. Made of flour, eggs, water and Tumeric powder for colouring with sprinkle of salt. Need a special mold  to drop the mixture onto the flat pan. The mold can be found easily from 2 Ringgit shop, or any kedai runcit). Very enjoyable process.. end up with a nice presentation.

You all should try:)

Apam Kampung

The list of foods in this month of Ramadhan are flooded. Ramadhan Bazaar can be visited at many housing area with endless list of foods, which can be enjoyed by all races from different background. As for me the Ramadhan month is a sharing & family affair to thank Allah for the bless and rezeki. We had a big buka puasa with Kak Yam, Maya & Shakib  and friends from my husband workshop... Expect more than 10 people at home everyday and we have practice this for more than 6 years now.

Lucky that I have a "personal assistant" Atie, that are so good in cooking and housework. I can't imagine to handle all this by my own.

Here I would like to share a unique Apam Kampung (that's what they call it) where the mixture filled inside Rambai leaf, which is quite rare, as for me the first time I ever encounter with this unique Apam. The smell of leave added a nice aroma to it. Thumps up!

Syam in the mood of La... la....la...

Colour Smeared

Overlapping

Arissa drawing

Next Step

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill.
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man.
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Nature..Absolute Stunning!

I am so inspired by nature. Syukur, the path I chose , moment I have now, permitted me to look at nature in a very close, micro distance. And it make me feel the existence of You. Thank you Allah....

Plant found in Tokyo, Japan

Dear God, I thank you for these feet, these eyes, these hands; I pray that wherever I go I will be able to see you in the world around me, and to always see honestly; I pray that whatever I touch will remind me your eternal presence in all things....

Selamat Menjalani Ibadah Puasa dan Salam Ramadan

Ramadan - a month of obligatory daily fasting in Islam is the ninth month in the Islamic lunar calendar. Daily fasts begin at dawn and end with sunset. Special nightly prayers called, Taraweeh prayers are held. The entire Quran is recited in these prayers in Mosques all around the world. This month provides an opportunity for Muslims to get closer to God. This is a month when a Muslim should try to:

See not what displeases Allah
Speak no evil
Hear no evil
Do no evil
Look to Allah with fear and hope

"O you who believe! Fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become God-fearing." (The Quran, 2:183)

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever fasts during Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. Whoever prays during the nights in Ramadan with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven. And he who passes Lailat al-Qadr in prayer with faith and seeking his reward from Allah will have his past sins forgiven (Bukhari, Muslim).

Wow....without ponteng even a day....Tidak pernah memberi tekanan kepada mereka untuk berpuasa, tetapi mereka melakukan dengan rela hati..dan sangat seronok setiap kali Ramadan menjenguk.

I am bless to have a very rich moment of childhood. Sesungguhnya kadang2 aku tersenyum dan seringkali merindui zaman kanak2 ku itu: bermain air hujan....menangkap anak katak, bermain pondok2 dan masak2, bermain lumpur, memanjat pokok..and the list went on and on...

mmmmm.... Seperti lazimnya seperti Ramadan yang sudah2 aku mengimbau kembali nostalgia berharga yang pernah aku lalui...yang pastinya membuat aku tersenyum sendiri:)

Syam in the mood of La... la....la...

I've been doing totally nothing this 3 days... I am supposed to go out for Creative Indulgence today..but the word LAZY, seems in capital letter and bold. My body felt aching..I need extra push and inspiration.. Still got a long list of things to do..but yet I feel those can be delay like nobody business. There are an order made for dolltopia, but since there are no deadline..so I am in La...la...la.. mood.

I went to get some groceries from Tesco. This picture was snapped from cereal box I purchased, which really inspired..Love the illustration, kind of wood cut style, with beautiful colour.

My purchasing drive was mostly because of the attractive packaging. Packaging act like a silence salesman. Instead of providing a protective layer it does performs many other function as well. Packaging can lend a special character to a product, enabling it to be distinguished from the competitors’ products. Important functions can also be assigned to packaging, including roles in advertising and sales promotions. The development of packaging for any product requires two basic design elements: design and function. As for user like me..I am attracted mostly because of  the design aspect, the aesthetic that appear physically like I mentioned is like a salesman that calling...BUY ME..BUY ME.

I've tasted the seed flake...mmm what can I say is I am not going to buy this product ever again:( a bit disappointed)

Book Binding Workshop 31 July-1 August 2010

Had my first Little Syam workshop for bookbinding which is super great:) Small class about 9 students enrolled.. I am really happy with the overall workshop which I felt so relaxing with good students. Meet with nice people..nice venue and it is like an escapism for a weekends, learning a new skill surrounded by nature. Not so sure when the next workshop yet since Ramadhan is around the corner.. perhaps on October... or could be at different venue.
